Imagination and visual means
Free, process-like painting resulting from the interplay between imagination and the world of the painter on the one hand, and the visual means on the other hand. An image does not emerge from perceptions and ideas alone. Nor does it come from the means alone. Both components in a dialogue with one another, contesting one another, bring a visual event closer to the “necessary” picture. Based on their individual requirements and creative impulses, the participants shall be stimulated and encouraged to engage in an imaginative, visual process and the adventure of painting resulting from the tension between one’s own will for expression and the demands of the image.
The course shall increase the participants’ sensitivity in the perception of the demands and suggestions of the image, in order to recognize and use their productive impulses to create an authentic invention.
Material: All painting and drawing material, preferably acrylics and oil pastel chalks
