The Summer Academy of the Fine Arts in Irsee For the 21st time, the University of Augsburg (Center for Further Education and Knowledge Transfer) and the Schwabenakademie Irsee (Irsee Swabian Academy) are inviting artists of various genres to the one-week summer academy “Living Art”.
What began as an ambitious dream has now become reality with a long tradition and quality recognized across Germany: one week of intensive work in small groups, teaching and artistic activities with renowned masters of their trade, the dialogue of the arts among each other during the breaks and a long art night as the highlight for the creative participants and curious art lovers.
Art shall be lived in Irsee, from the first encounter between the groups and their professional artist to the conversations with the numerous visitors at the Irsee Art Night and the counterparts from other art disciplines. Art will be created in the rooms of the Benedictine Cloister Irsee with its complex baroque architecture in the building, courtyard, and garden. It will be opened with an alluring private viewing of an exhibition by the professional artists and it shall thrive on the interactive questions and reflections during the “midday conversations” and evening workshops with the artists, which are open to all participants. Above all however, art lives in the creative processes of every individual participant. The artistic experience, common activities, conversations and reflections make the week as a whole a true synthesis of the arts.
All of those who already have personal skills in the respective artistic disciplines may apply to participate in the Swabian Art Summer, regardless whether they are professional artists or art is a part of their private life. An important requirement for participation is the willingness to work intensively in one’s own course as well as in the overall organization of the art week, being open for suggestions and partaking in the exchange of different artistic views and artistic forms of expression. The program’s claim to “live art” strives for an interdisciplinary, integrated understanding of art.
Experience with us art. We are looking forward to seeing you!
